Emmerson Mnangagwa has been elected as Zimbabwe's president, meaning the long-ruling Zanu PF party will remain in power.
But the opposition, led by Nelson Chamisa, is refusing to accept the result.
By securing 50.8 per cent of the vote, Mr Mnangagwa narrowly avoided a run-off against Mr Chamisa.
The newly elected president has tweeted he is "humbled" to be elected and describes the result as "a new beginning" for Zimbabwe.
