The federal government is resisting national calls to intervene and prevent a Tamil family from being deported.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison warns any such intervention would promote people-smuggling.
The legal battle for the family, currently being held on Christmas Island, continues.
The Federal Court will hear the case on Wednesday before an injunction blocking their deportation to Sri Lanka expires.
