As the final results of the 2016 federal election continue to trickle in, SBS Swahili spoke with Lucy Gichuhi, South Australia's Family First Senate hopeful about her experience as candidate and the election campaign.

As the final results of the 2016 federal election continue to trickle in, SBS Swahili spoke with Lucy Gichuhi, South Australia's Family First Senate hopeful about her experience as candidate and the election campaign.


Prior to the election the Prime Minister with the support of the Australian Greens had rushed in legislation which would significantly reduce the chances of Independent candidates and minor partys winning seats which have caused significant strife for the government in the last parliament.

 

 

However voters have cast their ballots in large nubers in favor of independent candidates and minor partys, a move which is certain to cause major strife for whichever party which will end up forming government.
