The percentage of Australians speaking another language at home has more than doubled over the last 20 years.
Many of those languages are new to Australia, and numbers in the communities that speak them are growing.
SBS Swahili spoke with Mireille Kayeye, the Kirundi language producer about the launch of the new language group and what it means for the Kirundi speaking community.
