Former prime minister Tony Abbott is warning his Coalition colleagues they are at serious risk of losing the next election to Bill Shorten.

In public appearances, in print and on radio, Mr Abbott said voters are sick of an underperforming government.

He's recommended a suite of new policies, from curbing immigration and bringing down house prices to suspending renewable energy targets.
