Protestors in the Democratic Republic of Congo have attacked a facility used to assess potential ebola cases, angry at what they perceive to be attempts to exclude them from voting in the country's presidential election

The election, first scheduled for 2016, has been repeatedly postponed, and now parts of the country are gripped by violence and allegations of corruption.

D-R Congo has not had a peaceful transfer of power since independence from Belgium in 1960. The latest unrest comes as the government orders the European Union to recall its envoy to the country.

The move is in retaliation for E-U sanctions against 14 government officials, including President Kabila’s former Interior Minister.
