Uganda imepitisha sheria kali dhidi ya kundi la watu wanao jitambua kama LGBTIQ+, hatua ambayo imevutia ukosoaji mkali kutoka mataifa ya magharibi pamoja wana harakati barani Africa.


Sheria hiyo inajumuisha adhabu ya kifo, kwa kile ambacho sheria hiyo mpya ina ita ushoga uliokithiri.

Sheria hiyo imezua wasiwasi kuhusu kuongezeka kwa vurugu, ubaguzi na ukiukwaji wa haki za binadam dhidi ya jamii ambayo ime tengwa zaidi ya LGBTIQ+ nchini Uganda na katika kanda zima.

Sheria hiyo imetoa hukumu ya kifo kwa ushoga ulio kithiri, na kwa wanao sambaza magonjwa yanayo sababisha kifo kama Ukimwi kupitia kujamiana kwa watu wa jinsia sawia.

Sheria hiyo inatoa hukumu pia ya kifungo gerezani cha miaka 20, kwa kukuza ushoga.
