Victoria will soon have another international airport, with AirAsia to begin flying to and from Avalon Airport near Geelong.
An international terminal will be established at the site to facilitate the Malaysian carrier's services and they could begin as soon as this year, it is understood.
It is expected more will be revealed about the plan at an event at the Lara airport, which is owned by the Linfox Group, on Sunday.
