முதலில் ஆடிய ஆஸ்திரேலியா அணி, 20 ஓவர்களில் 6 விக்கெட்டுகளை எடுத்து 132 ஓட்டங்களை எடுத்தது. பதில் துடுப்பெடுத்தாடிய இங்கிலாந்து 20 ஓவர்களில் 7 விக்கெட்டுகளை இழந்து 127 ஓட்டங்களை மட்டுமே பெற்றுத் தோல்வியடைந்தது.
