The two-year-old Tamil Nadu boy Sujith, trapped in borewell for 3 days, has died, says Mr.J Radhakrishnan, Principal Secretary in the Transport Department.
He fell inside the borewell on Friday 25th October, 2019 at 5:45 PM and from that time the rescue operation was in full swing.
Sujith was unconscious but breathing until Sunday morning, but rescuers have been unable to check his condition since then.
Government officials had earlier said that rescuing the boy would have taken 12 hours more. However, a foul smell from within the borewell led authorities to declare the boy's death.
