BIRYANI is a unique theatrical and culinary experience combining storytelling, food and live music. Kali Srinivasan, star of Palme DOr winning-French film Dheepan, and artistic director of St Georges dance and theatre Jay Emmanuel are creating food for thought. Their show, Biryani, combines the cooking of the Indian rice-based dish with storytelling, music and, of course, eating. Kulasegaram Sanchayan talks to Kali in Tamil and Jay Emmanuel in English about BIRYANI and their work. Biryani is performed at Upper Burt Hall, St Georges Cathedral, from next Thursday-July 6.
