GST is good for India – Kennedy

J. M. Kennedy, an IRS officer, is a Commissioner - GST in Tiruchy, Tamil Nadu. He worked as Director in the Tax Research Unit (TRU) of the Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC), Ministry of Finance, at North Block, New Delhi for six years. As Director in TRU, he involved in the making of GST, by participation in the various Committees and was part of the team that designed and implemented the new approach to taxation of services in 2012 prior to the introduction of GST. He has been nominated by the GST Council to the GST Working Group on Logistics and Transport Sector. He has received the Presidential Award in appreciation of Distinguished Record of Service. RaySel spoke to Mr J. M. Kennedy on the benefit of GST.
