Dr Thava Vasanthan's research focus has been on value-added processing of grains (cereal and pulse grains) and tubers. A professor at the University of Alberta, Canada, Dr Thava Vasanthan also works as a consultant in the grain, fibre, and food processing industries.
During his visit to Australia, Kulasegaram Sanchayan had an opportunity to talk to him about the need to find protein products from plants and the success he has had with his current research – extracting protein from plants.
