Politicians and Dual Citizenship: Do we care?

Politicians from across the political spectrum, from One Nation to the Greens, are calling for an independent review to check the citizenship status of every MP and senator in the wake of recent resignations. The Australian Constitution Section 44 i prevents dual citizenship holders representing people in Federal parliament. Should we continue this system in a modern democracy?
