Mylai Chinna Thambi Pillai Rajah (1883 - 1943) was a Tamil politician, social and political activist, who was a contemporary of BR Ambedkar. He was one of the founder-members of the South Indian Liberal Federation (Justice Party) and was the first member of the Dalit community to be elected to the Madras Legislative Council in 1920. Along with Ambedkar and Rettamalai Srinivasan, he represented the Dalits at the Second Round Table Conference in London in 1931. He has written numerous Tamil rhymes, which are still popular among Tamil children and adults.

Dr Dhamu Pongiyannan (the University of Adelaide) presents this weeks Thamil Thadam on the forgotten great leader.
