Mylapore Ponnuswamy Sivagnanam (1906 - 1995), popularly known as Ma.Po.Si., was a self-taught Tamil scholar, who wrote over 140 books in Tamil. Having born in a poor and low-caste Tamil family, Ma.Po.Si was unable to complete his primary education due to poverty. Although Ma.Po.Si was admired for his pro-nationalist views, he also advocated an integrated Tamil land stretching from Thiruvengadam (Tirupati) to Eelam (Sri Lanka). Dr Dhamu Pongiyannan (the University of Adelaide) presents this weeks Thamil Thadam on this multifaceted and controversial Tamil leader.
