Tun Samy Vellu (8 March 1936 – 15 September 2022) was a Malaysian politician who served as a Minister in the Malaysian Government for over 29 years. He was a member and served as 7th President of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC). He is the longest-serving MIC president by holding the position for 31 years.


Nandan Chidambaram Rangasamy, who started as a Tamil teacher and retired as an organizer and officer of a state Tamil school, reflects on the loss of Tun Samy Vellu with Kulasegaram Sanchayan.
