Jockey Ibrahim Gundogdu was expected to be discharged from hospital on Tuesday evening despite his heavy fall at Bairnsdale earlier in the day.

Ibrahim Gundogdu has been transported to hospital following a fall in the final stages of a race in country Victoria.

According to a statement from the Victorian Jockeys' Association, Gundogdu is expected to be released from Bairnsdale Hospital on Tuesday night after escaping with a concussion following a fall from She's A Pluck in Race 3.

The 28-year-old was transported to the local hospital for assessment after the fall but the VJA said that his scans were clear.

Fellow hoop Jason Benbow, who also rode in the race, forfeited his remaining rides on Tuesday to travel with Gundogdu to hospital, where they posed for a photo together.
