The Victorian government has issued health warnings ahead of hot weather forecast for parts of the state.
Temperatures are expected to reach an uncomfortable 41C on Wednesday at some centres, including Mildura, as Melbourne climbs to a forecast 36C.
The heat was due to continue on Thursday and Victoria's chief health officer has urged residents in the state's northwest to try and keep cool, and drink plenty of water.
