The 60-year-old was arrested by Queensland Police in Goondiwindi this morning.
Homicide Squad detectives will travel to Queensland to apply for his extradition to Victoria.
This hearing is likely to take place in Toowoomba Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
The arrest follows an incident where a 61-year-old Sunshine West woman, Fatma Solmaz was located deceased in a property on Hall Street about 9pm on 23 May.
