Muhammed Yucel victim of mistaken identity: reports

Yucel believed to be innocent victim caught in the crossfire of Melbourne's gun violence.

The Age reports that Muhammed Yucel, 22, was killed in a tragic case of mistaken identity when two gunmen opened fire on the garage of a Church Road home in Keysborough on May 2.

He was killed by at least two gunmen, when he opened the garage door to go home.

Two of his friendsa also injured. His three other friends escaped uninjured.

Investigations are continuing into the Keysborough shooting of Mr Yucel.

His father, Bekir Yucel, paid tribute to his son online last month.

The young man's death is said to have left Melbourne's Turkish community reeling.
