New security measures have been announced for Melbourne's CBD to combat the threat of terrorism, including temporary bollards at some of the city's most crowded places.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says concrete bollards will be put in place quickly at Federation Square, Bourke Street and other busy public places to stop cars entering.
"There's no time to be wasted here ... The threat of terror, the threat of hostile vehicle attacks, the threats to public safety are all too real," he told reporters in Melbourne on Saturday.
