Turkey has opened a third bridge connecting Istanbul's Asian and European sides on Friday the 26th August 2016. The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge stretches across the Bosphorus Strait, which flows between the two continents. Spanning the northern part of the Bosphorus, the bridge is 1400 meter long. With a width of 59 meters and a height of 332 meters, officials describe it as the world's largest and tallest suspension bridge. The bridge consists of 10 lanes, two with railways.
