Australians among thousands of Uighurs asking China for proof-of-life videos

When the Chinese government this week released a video of a prominent Uighur musician, the intention was simply to prove that the man was alive and healthy. Instead, it quickly sparked a global campaign with Uighurs demanding answers about the fate of friends and family who they say haven't been seen for years.
