Awkward Con-nections is a bold double bill of contemporary dance which physicalises and questions the social playground of human interactions. The first work, 'It's Getting Awkward', is collaboratively devised by Sarah Chaffey, Scott Elstermann and Ezgi Güngör. It examines the complexities of social interaction and magnifies the decision making process when meeting someone new. It brings to life those awkward moments when you're going back and forth in a game of rock-paper-scissors with handshakes, hugs and high fives. The trio presents these encounters as being universally experienced whilst remaining recognisably uncomfortable. We talked with dancer Ezgi Güngör on their show 'Awkward Con-nections'.
