Calls to decriminalise personal drug use grow louder

The New South Wales Special Commission of Inquiry into the drug Ice has heard calls for the removal of criminal sanctions for personal drug use and possession. The recommendation echoes others made earlier this year by the United Nations to end criminalisation and treat drug use and addiction as a health and social issue rather than a criminal one.
