Federal government unveils new path for Indigenous voice to parliament

The Minister for Indigenous Australians, Ken Wyatt, says he will use his "heart and culture" to tackle the issues affecting Indigenous Australians.

The federal government has taken the first steps in establishing an Indigenous voice to parliament, unveiling a new co-design process. Minister for Indigenous Australians Ken Wyatt says the model will allow First Nations people to be heard at all levels of government, but has ruled out enshrining the voice in the Constitution.
