Australian Agenda contributor Levent Efe told SBS Turkish that the failure of Australian banks to pass on RBA interest rate cuts to consumers was creating a huge government backlash at a time when the economy needed increased consumption. Efe said one way to boost the economy was to increase social spending, which is the last thing the budget deficit-averse government will do.
