Hasan Sayar, a retired Turkish teacher and administrator who worked at language schools in the state of Victoria, called on the members of the Turkish community to enter the SBS National Languages Competition as a way to promote both the language and the multicultural character of the country. He also called for second, third and even fourth generation Australian Turks to pay close attention to teaching Turkish and Turkish culture to their children.
