Journalist Yavuz Oğhan spoke to SBS Turkish about the five-day cease-fire agreement reached late on Thursday, which will allow the PYD/YPG forces in northern Syria to withdraw further away from the Turkey border. Oğhan said Russia, the main beneficiary of the US withdrawal, continued to dictate the terms of peace in the region. He also said that about the war crimes accusations directed at Turkey’s Syrian allies participating in the military operation, almost nothing was reported by the local media and those that did risked prosecution.
