Research suggests family violence in asylum communities is under-researched in Australia. Surmeli Aydogan from Turkish community, runs Preventing Violence in Playgroups project in Melbourne. Project started with the views of working with culturally and linguistically diverse women on the nature of intimate partner relationships, cultural impacts on relationships and gender stereotypes, particularly in the context of parenting pre-school-aged children.
