Support growing for transfer of asylum children

Three coalition backbenchers have turned against their own government's policy to join groups campaigning for asylum seeker children to be released from Nauru for medical treatment. But the M-Ps have stopped short of threatening to cross the floor in support of a new bill to be introduced by cross-benchers. Their move follows almost six-thousand doctors signing an open letter to the Prime Minister demanding the children be treated with compassion.
