Turkey seeks extradition of two people, says envoy

Turkey’s ambassador to Australia, Korhan Karakoç, speaks to Seda Ercan from SBS Turkish on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Solidarity Day. He said Turkey was demanding the extradition of two people from Australia linked to the failed coup on 2016, the like presidential visit to Australia in the first half of 2020. He also said Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is expected to pay an official visit to Australia later this month. When asked about the ambassador's statements, the spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that the department meets regularly with the Turkish Ambassador to discuss a range of issues.
