Prominent Turkish journalist and novelist Ahmet Altan is serving a life sentence for supposedly supporting the coup attempt on July 15, 2016. He was first charged for spreading “subliminal” messages through what he said on TV. He has been in jail for a thousand days and believes he will spend thousands more. From the darkness of his cell, he wrote “I Will Never See The World Again,” which was recently published in Australia. The book is about incarceration and his unquenched urge to create. On the 1000th day of his imprisonment, SBS Radio Turkish Program’s Seda Ercan spoke to author's daughter Sanem Altan, who has been acting as his spokesperson since the beginning of his ordeal.
