Journalist Yavuz Oghan said Channel Istanbul, described by the government as a "crazy project," will continue to dominate political headlines in the coming year. Another topic of discussion was the attempt by the state-owned Ziraat Bank to save the near-bankrupt bagel firm Simit Sarayı (Simit Palace). He said, "The Ziraat Bank was just about to sell bagels."
