Tensions on the Korean Peninsula may have played a role in a decision by the United States to reverse its nomination of Admiral Harry Harris as the next US ambassador to Australia. Admiral Harris is now likely to become the US ambassador to South Korea ahead of a proposed meeting between US president Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
