Facing a high court challenge to the laws, Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has moved in Parliament to change the Border Force Act so secrecy rules would only apply to certain information.
Mr Dutton says workers within the detention system would be able to speak out about most things except information that could harm Australia's defence, security or international relations.
