The federal Health Minister Sussan Ley has been asked to stand aside as the Prime Minister orders his department to investigate more than a dozen taxpayer-funded trips she made to the Gold Coast.
It comes after Ms Ley agreed to pay back travel allowances claimed for a 2015 trip during which she bought an investment property.
The Minister maintains she didn't break any rules - but has apologised for what she sees as actions that have distracted from the government's agenda.
