Members of a family jailed for organizing a family ceremony in Vietnam

Six Hoa Hao Buddhists are not in charge of the Vietnamese Government's Management Board on 9 February by a court of first instance in An Phu district, An Giang province, accusing them of 'disturbing public order "under articles 245 and 257 of the Vietnam Penal Code.


Bui Van Trung, 54, was sentenced to six years in prison, his daughter Bui Thi Bich Tuyen, 36, three years in prison and her son, Bui Van Tham, 31, who was sentenced to six years. Le Hong Huong, 41, was sentenced to 3 years in prison, 56-year-old Le Thi Huong's wife, 56-year-old Le Thi Han, who suffered a heart attack and was sentenced to two years in suspense.

Bui Thi Thuy's daughter, Bui Van Trung, said the authorities had beaten her family for organizing her grandmother's pals and police arrested the attendees.
