Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, meeting with his New Zealand counterpart, has defended his Government's right to deport New Zealand citizens who commit serious crimes in Australia.


His comments came during his first official meeting with New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern since she took over four months ago.

On the pair's agenda were a range of issues, including trade, cybersecurity, nuclear weapons and refugees.
