Venezuela's government has threatened legal action after the company responsible for the voting technology in its elections last weekend claimed the voting results were manipulated.

There have been widespread protests in Venezuela and international condemnation of the election and its aftermath, where protesters were killed and opposition figures arrested.

The vote put in place a handpicked Constituent Assembly, giving the government of President Nicolas Maduro and his Socialist Party the power to rewrite the constitution.
