Who is the King and Queen of Asian pop?

The royals are in town! As you would have seen on the telly the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge AKA Prince Wills and Kate landed in Sydney yesterday (April 16) bringing little baby George with them on tour. As the country is awash with royal fever, we have decided to crown our very own King and Queen of Asian pop! Just for kicks and giggles :P

Kate and Wills in Sydney

Thinking long and hard about Asian pop’s all-rounders – you know - the stars who can do it all; we came up with this list of TOP 10 hopefuls.

You tell us who you think should be crowned King and Queen and we shall forcibly ship then together for you! LOL

Jolin Tsai

C-pop superstar

Talents: She is known as an Asian pop diva as she can not only sing, but dance and do rhythmic gymnastics and I also an English Lit major. Style and smarts!

Jay Chou

C-pop superstar

Talents: Jay can act, produce, direct, sing and command a stadium full of fans in doing so.  He also composes all of his music and recently directed, produced & starred in his own movie-musical The Rooftop. He also plays piano, guitar, violin… I could go on.

Oh – and he has a few restaurants in Taipei.

Ayumi Hamasaki

J-pop superstar

Ayu is a recording artist, lyricist, model and actress. She also launched her own fashion label MTRLG and created a cartoon version of herself (as you do) in figurines. She too opened a restaurant Rainbow House.

Agnez Monica

I-pop superstar

Agnez is an Indonesian singer, actress and Indonesian “it” girl. She released her first children’s album at the ripe age of 6. She also cracked the US market & recently signing to The Cherry Party/RED Associated Labels and releasing this single featuring Timberland.

G-Dragon

K-pop superstar

What would be a list like this be without G-Dragon. He’s already the king in mist of our minds. He is a rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer, lyricist, producer, model and fashion icon. He  also topped Forbes listing of "Most Hardworking Idol" and he’s into Wu-Tang. Nuff’ said.

Rain

K-pop superstar

Rain’s abs could on this list as separate entity… but that’s all we’ll say about that. He is considered a “World Star” as he is popular all across Asia & in the US. He can also act & fill out an army uniform.

CL

K-pop superstar

CL is a queen by name already! You already know she can sing, rap, dance & write music. I think the most amazing thing about CL is her ability to command the attention of thousands of people.

Jin Akanishi

J-pop superstar

Jin is a musician, singer-songwriter, actor, voice actor, and former radio host. He’s accomplished a lot in his 30 years! Just last year he made his Hollywood debut alongside Keanu Reeves in the film 47 Ronin.

BoA

K-pop superstar

Apart from being stunningly beautiful: BoA is a one-of-a-kind talent. She is a Singer, songwriter, composer, dancer, model, actress, voice actress, record producer AND creative director. She also she speaks Japanese, English, Korean (native) and has recorded songs in Mandarin.

Jinyoung (B1A4)

I put Jinyoung in as a wild card as he actually composed some of the title tracks and songs for B1A4's albums! He’s also starred in a few drama series: She is Wow & The Thousandth Man as well as in the movie Miss Granny.
