SUNDAY October 2 - Pop! Weekend on SBS 2 

1pm: Celebrity Chef

This new series invites a Michelin-starred chef to tutor ten Chinese stars - all self-confessed foodies - in a variety of special regional styles of food preparation. The celebrities are then called on to use their newfound skills in a series of studio-based challenges, competing against one another to impress a panel of judges and proceed to the next round. The ultimate winner will take home the trophy for being China's best Celebrity Chef, along with a deal for a cookbook and a million yuan donation to the charity of their choice.

2:30pm: Vs. Arashi

Pop idol group Arashi challenge celebrity guest teams in a series of larger than life games on this hilarious variety show. Some of the games include: “Falling Pipe”, ”Cliff Climb”, and “Rolling Coin Tower” - what so they mean? You'll have to watch to find out. The show is always packed full of LOL moments. 

3:30pm: Movie: Wolf Children

Wolf Children is a staggeringly beautiful animated feature film from director Mamoru Hosoda (Summer Wars), who has been billed as the 'next Miyazaki'. This epic cinematic achievement follows Tokyo university student Hana, a woman who falls in love with a solitary youth in her lecture group. This quiet, brooding man has an astounding secret: he has both human and wolf blood, and can become a wolf at will. Hana's love is steadfast however, and soon they have two children - a boisterous girl Yuki and her far quieter little brother Ame - both of whom inherit their father's power to transform. However a catastrophe forces Hana to raise her offspring alone, so - frightened that their true nature will be discovered - she seek refuge in remote mountain town where she attempts to build a life for herself, and her incredible wolf children.

5:35pm: Battle for Money

Battle for Money is a Japanese game show like no other - the ultimate game of free-for-all dodgeball, where everyone else is the enemy. Every competitor is given 250,000 yen and a dodgeball. Inside a constructed arena, with the clock ticking, players need to use the balls to knock one another out of the game - each time is a player is eliminated, the remainder of their money goes to the player than eliminated them. That money can be used to buy armour, upgrade weapons, or even hire the services of the mysterious Shinobi - ninja warrior bodyguards trained to do only their master's bidding. The game concludes when there is only one player left standing - and they keep all the money.

7:30pm: If You Are The One 

With a viewing audience of up to 50 million per episode, this popular Chinese dating show is a cultural phenomenon. A lone male suitor has to impress a panel of 24 single women, who can then register their interest or disinterest in the man through the use of their podium lights. Popular host Meng Fei oversees the action in front of a large studio audience.

8:30pm: Love

Following in the footsteps of Love Actually and countless Hollywood Valentine's Day specials comes Love, a feelgood Taiwanese rom-com featuring a star-studded cast including Shu Qi and Vicki Zhao. The movie takes the form of three interlocking stories of romance. In the first story, three university friends - simple girl-next-door Yi Jia, her confident, talented best friend Xiao Min, and Xiao Min's boyfriend and budding filmmaker Ah Kai - find their friendship tested when Yi Jia falls pregnant. In the second story, successful young Taiwanese entrepreneur (and commitment-phobe) Mark meets single mother and real estate agent Xiao Ye. While their first meeting goes horribly awry - with Xiao Ye breaking her leg and her son going missing - the two's destinies seem nonetheless intertwined. And finally, stammering waiter Xiao Kuan ends up rescuing glamorous socialite Rou Yi (Shu Qi) from a row with the rich CEO on whom she depends.

10:50pm: Space Dandy (double-eps)

From director Shinichiro Watanabe and the creative team behind cult classic COWBOY BEBOP comes SPACE DANDY - a dandy in space! This dreamy adventurer with a to-die-for pompadour travels across the galaxy in search of aliens no one has ever laid eyes on. Each new species he discovers earns him a hefty reward, but this dandy has to be quick on his feet because it’s first come – first served! Accompanied by his sidekicks, a rundown robot named QT and Meow the cat-looking space alien, Dandy bravely explores unknown worlds inhabited by a variety aliens. Join the best dressed alien hunter in all of space and time as he embarks on an adventure that ends at the edge of the universe.

11:50: Assassination Classroom (double-eps)

Forget about homework and pop quizzes. The students of Class 3E have a far more important assignment: kill their teacher before the end of the year! A tentacle-d sensei that moves at Mach 20 is out to conquer the classroom after destroying seventy percent of the moon. In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, the murderous monster behind the lectern will teach his students everything he knows about the assassination game. Should some eager beaver prove to be a quick study in killing, he or she will save Earth from extinction - and collect a hefty reward. But they'd better take some serious notes while class is in session because their slaughtering sensei has eight deadly tentacles just waiting to wreak havoc on humanity! This anime series was adapted into a blockbuster live action film, which topped the Japanese box office on its release in March 2015.

12:50am: Movie: 20th Century Boys Pt. 3 (Jap)

Based on the award winning manga series created by Naoki Urasawa (Yawara; Monster), 20TH Century Boys Pt. 3 is the third instalment of the mind-blowing, three-part live-action adaptation of the epic sci-fi fantasy adventure originally inspired by the T. Rex song "20th Century Boy".

In 1969, Kenji, an elementary school kid and his friends built a secret base during their summer holidays. They fantasized that they had to fight villains who were out to conquer the world and wrote them in the Book of Prophecies. Years later in 1997, Kenji becomes a convenience store manager and leads a regular life after giving up his dreams to become a rock star. His boring life is suddenly turned upside down when his old classmate dies mysteriously and an entire family in the neighbourhood disappears. At the same time, a religious cult and its mysterious leader, Friend emerges and a strange chain of events duplicating exactly the events described in the Book of Prophecies follow.
