YG Entertainment has unveiled the first member of its  new girl group. Through a teaser, the first member named was Jennie.

Jennie is not a stranger to the limelight either. She was in G-Dragon's comeback stage back in 2013.

YG Entertainment has confirmed that it will debut a new girl group in July. A spokesperson from the group told OSEN that YG's CEO, Yang Hyunsuk was currently producing the girls’ music video with a goal to unveil in July.

When asked about the number of members, the YG personnel said that “the formation happened a long time ago.”  Apparently Yang met with a number of video specialists for the group, which was how the media was tipped off about the new group.

Last year, in an interview with OSEN, Yang said that he was devising a girl group, “with pretty members, unlike before.”  The new group will mark the agency’s first since 2NE1’s debut in 2009.
