It has been announced that BTS, SHINee, G-Dragon, and more stars have won awards at this year's Korea Popular Culture & Arts Awards!

The Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards are an annual ceremony that recognises the achievements of approximately 30 Korean artists across all pop culture areas, with four types of awards being handed out - the Cultural Merit Award, the Presidential Award, the Prime Minister's Award, and the Minister of Culture Award. With this year's event just around the corner, we now know some of the 2016 award winners!

According to reportsSHINee and G-Dragon have won each one of the eight Prime Minister's Awards handed out each year, with the other awards going to actors such as Jo Jin-woongHwang Jung-eum, and Hoo Ah-in. This marks SHINee's second award at the ceremony, having picked up the Minister of Culture award in 2012. For G-Dragon, this is his first award at the event, solo or otherwise. 

In addition to SHINee and G-Dragon winning awards, BTS were another award recipient at this year's event having been awarded one of the nine Minister of Culture awards that are being handed out. 

As for the actual award ceremony, the event will take place on October 27.

A big, big congratulations to BTS, G-Dragon, SHINee, and all the other Popular Culture and Arts Award winners this year!
