It's currently awards season for the Korean music industry, and coming up next on the roster of ceremonies is the 26th Seoul Music Awards. While it remains to be seen who will ultimately take home the big prizes, we do have some indication on who the favourites are as the online voting results are in.
For those who are unaware, online voting constitutes to 20% of the final scores of the winners, meaning that fans have a particularly big say in the final results. As for the results for this year's Seoul Music Awards, it looks like it will be a close race between a number of big name groups.
The domestic 2017 Seoul Music "Bonsang" (Main Prize) voting results show EXO holding a slim lead over BTS for the No.1 spot, followed by BTOB, VIXX, GOT7, INFINITE, Sech Kies, SEVENTEEN, SHINee, and TWICE.
The results are also quite similar for the overseas 2017 Seoul Music "Bonsang" (Main Prize) vote, with EXO again holding a slim lead over BTS. However, this category features new entries from MAMAMOO, B.A.P, Red Velvet, and Apink.
Things are shaken up a bit when it comes to the overseas 2017 Seoul Music "Rookie"voting results as NCT 127 are in the lead over ASTRO, followed by Black Pink, Cosmic Girls, Pentagon, I.O.I, SF9, Bolbbalgan4, and Gugudan.
Things are quite close in the domestic 2017 Seoul Music "Popularity" vote as SHINee are currently leading the way over EXO and BTS, followed by INFINITE, VIXX, Sech Kies, SEVENTEEN, BTOB, TWICE, and GOT7.
And finally, the overseas 2017 Seoul Music "Popularity" vote throws the form book out the window as ASTRO are the ones holding a lead over BTS, EXO and GOT7, with the rest of the top 10 completed by INFINITE, VIXX, SHINee, CLC, iKON, and Eunji.
With the 26th Seoul Music Awards being held tonight (January 19), who do you think will take home the big awards?
