Watch the incredible special performance of “Gimme Chocolate!!”

At this point, keeping track of BABYMETAL’s accomplishments has become a deeply difficult task. They just wrapped up a stint as the opening act for Red Hot Chili Peppers, playing their last gig with the long-running California funk-rockers in Miami on April 29. To send them out, they got a little bit of help from the Peps themselves.

All four members of Red Hot Chili Peppers donned face paint and white robes for the pop-meets-metal trio’s final show with their band, and joined BABYMETAL’s Kami Band for the set. Drummer Chad Smith, bassist Flea and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer played alongside the group for their set-closing number “Gimme Chocolate!!,” introduced midway through as “Chad-metal,” “Flea-metal” and “Josh-metal,” respectively. You can catch the whole performance — including human wind-up-toy Flea zipping around the stage — here, in a video uploaded by user PAPI METAL, who has done one heck of a job documenting BABYMETAL’s live performances over the years.

Besides being a great group for older metal/rock acts to cameo with, BABYMETAL have also proven to be a venerable content factory. The latest outlet to gaze upon the group is the “Celebrities React To...” series put together by Fine Brothers Entertainment, who similarly had YouTubers react to the group, and BABYMETAL themselves react to the YouTubers reacting to them. Now, you can see Paul Scheer compare them to The Ring (both Japanese...nice reference!) in the clip below:
