Debuting back in 2010, Star Empire’s Nine Muses have enjoyed a roller coaster career. The ladies have had more lineup changes than almost any other girl group, but they've managed to keep going and continue finding success.

Now, with just four members left, Nine Muses have returned with a brand new mini-album, Muses Diary Part.2: Identity. To celebrate their impressive comeback, we're taking a look back at some of the group’s most memorable moments.

1. Their debut with “No Playboy”

Nine Muses had a controversial debut stage when they performed on M! Countdown for the first time. The group had been making headlines before their debut due to their nine-member lineup (which earned comparisons to Girls’ Generation) and their unique model-turned-idol concept, so many K-pop fans and media outlets were quick to get the claws out following the group’s “No Playboy” performance. Luckily, the girls later proved their naysayers wrong when they slayed the stage with follow-up single “Ladies” a few months later.

2. Their “Figaro” comeback

After their shaky debut, many K-pop fans wondered if the girls would ever return to the stage again. However, the glamorous group made a stunning comeback in 2011 when they teamed up with producer Sweetune for their disco single “Figaro.” It was the first of many collaborations between Nine Muses and Sweetune, and the positive reception the comeback received signaled a fresh start for the group.

3. Kyungri joins Nine Muses

Countless idols have come and gone from Nine Muses, but no member has made more of an impact than Kyungri. The glamorous star joined the group for their “News” comeback in 2012, which ended up becoming the group’s first successful single on the digital charts. Kyungri later went on to become the group’s most famous member, which has led to her landing solo CF deals and countless variety show appearances.

4. Immortal Song performance with ZE:A

Nine Muses are best known for their glamorous beauty and catchy songs, but last year they were able to show their immense vocal talent on Immortal Song. Kyungri and Hyemi appeared on the show alongside labelmates ZE:A to perform the Roo'Ra classic "The Angel Who Lost Wings." It was an amazing stage that really showcased the skills of both ZE:A and Nine Muses.

5. Nasty Nasty unit with ZE:A’s Kevin Kim

Immortal Song wasn’t the only time that Nine Muses and ZE:A joined forces. In 2014, Kyungri and new member Sojin teamed up with SBS PopAsia’s own Kevin Kim to form the sexy unit group Nasty Nasty. The trio were an instant hit.

6. Nine Muses get their biggest hit with “Dolls”

Nine Muses finally became a nine-member group again with the addition of Sungah in 2013, and subsequently the group earned their biggest hit ever with “Dolls.” The jazzy track became their first to enter the top twenty of the Gaon Digital chart and brought the group more popularity and recognition than they’d ever had before.

7. Comeback showcase at the army base

Due to their good looks and sexy concepts, it’s no surprise that Nine Muses became one of the most popular girl groups among soldiers serving in the military. To return the love that the army had given them, the group decided to hold their “Dolls” comeback showcase at an army base. Needless to say, the soldiers were very happy and “Dolls” became a huge hit!

8. All the member changes

They’ve changed members for almost every comeback, and Hyemi currently stands as the only original member left from the group’s debut. They’re down to just four members at the moment, but who knows what will happen by the end of the year?

9. Their "Remember" comeback

Nine Muses returned with their new single “Remember” this week, and it’s definitely one of their best releases ever. Composed by NUPLAY, “Remember” starts off like a moody ballad before surging into a huge EDM chorus. It’s a totally new style for the group and one that really works.
