Ever since BTS released their hit single "Blood, Sweat, & Tears" last October, it has been nothing short of a huge success. Now, a year since it was first dropped, the song has managed to snap a big record on the Korean music charts that's been standing for 10 years!
For the week of December 4, 2017 on the Melon Top 100 chart, "Blood, Sweat, & Tears" has managed to come in at No.42, meaning that the song has been in the Top 100 for 55 weeks (and counting). Not only is this BTS' longest charting song on the Melon Top 100, but this run from "Blood, Sweat, & Tears" is now officially the longest charting boy group song on the chart, snapping the previous record of 54 weeks that's been held for nearly 10 years by BIGBANG's monster single "Lies."
In terms of K-pop groups, the current longest charting song from any group is TWICE's "Cheer Up" at 68 weeks, so there's still a little left to go before BTS reaches that milestone.
A big, big congrats to BTS for breaking yet another record!
