We're only a few weeks away before the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics kicks off on February 9, but those wishing to see some of their favourite K-pop idols and groups perform at the opening ceremony may be disappointed.
According to XportsNews, it is confirmed that Bolbbalgan4's Ahn Ji Young will be attending the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics opening ceremony, where she will be sharing the stage with singer Jeon In Kwon and other artists for a performance of a song that symbolises peace.
Those expecting to see some of their favourite K-pop idols and artists at the opening ceremony may be disappointed because it is also reported that there will be no K-pop idol groups performing, with reportedly very few exceptions though there have been no confirmations yet.
While it is reported that idol groups may not be performing at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics opening ceremony, fans will get the chance to see the likes of BIGBANG's Taeyang, Red Velvet, WINNER, Beenzino, Black Pink, DJ DOC, F.T. Island, NCT, Girl's Day, U-KISS, LABOUM, Hwang Chi Yeol, Kwak Jin Eon, John Park, JYJ's Junsu, and veteran singer Insooni performing throughout the Olympics' two week duration.
At the time of writing, the confirmed line up for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics has not yet been released, thus it is not yet known which (if any) K-pop idols will be attending.
